The government says that food additives are approved “based on the rigorous scientific assessment of any risk to public health and safety.” Tell the Federal Health Minister that you are not happy that food additives are NOT tested for their effects on behaviour and learning or their role in many health problems before approval, they are NOT tested on children before approval, they are NOT tested for their combined, cumulative or delayed effects before approval, and, once they’re approved, there is no one to whom you can complain.
